History of CDS
In 1981, CDS Solutions Group founders created a software system designed specifically for a local furniture retailer's operations. The system, named FACS (Furniture Accounting Control System), was so successful, that the Lancaster, PA-based company installed hundreds of systems to furniture retailers across the Country.
In 1995, the company founders decided to merge with Complete Solution Systems, an information technology consulting business. As a result, expertise in new technologies, consulting capabilities and new clients were added to the CDS foundation. Within three years of the merger, Ren Baker, one of the partners of Complete Solution Systems, became president of CDS and began to lead the 25+ employee strong company with a new strategic vision -- to be the driving force behind retail management systems.
That vision, in addition to Baker's dedicated pursuit of assisting retailers in establishing better business practices, has earned CDS a reputation as innovator and valued business partner throughout the industry.
As the diversity of clients continued to grow, so did the talents and size of the CDS team. As a result, CDS attracted top-notch consultants, educators, developers, marketers and creative personnel, allowing for the expansion of services, a broad spectrum of expertise, and the ability to serve a wide variety of industries.
